Our job at Concept Seating is to support our users while they are doing this important work. One way is through the chairs we design and manufacture – and ensuring they are ergonomically optimal. But we also do this by directly supporting our customers’ industries.
Denise Amber Lee Foundation
The Denise Amber Lee Foundation was founded in the wake of Denise’s tragic death. Despite the fact that as many as four patrol cars were within a mile of her abductor’s car, due to inefficiencies in the call center, none were dispatched. Nathan Lee, Denise’s husband, created this foundation and made it his life’s mission to travel the country telling her story and to help 911 centers across the country avoid this situation.
The Foundation supports and promotes public safety through:
- Uniform training with both in-person and online classes
- Standardized protocols
- Defined measurable outcomes (quality assurance)
- Technological advances to 911
Concept Seating is a proud supporter of The Denise Amber Lee Foundation and makes a monetary donation with each chair sold in the public safety industry. We also are regular sponsors and exhibitors at their annual Be the Difference Conference.
In 2022, Concept Seating partnered with the Foundation to create the Golden Headset Award. This quarterly award recognizes public safety professionals who have made an exceptional impact, demonstrate leadership and bring positivity to the profession, community, and callers. Individuals are nominated by their peers and judging is done by a panel of public safety professionals. This is just one small way to recognize the many public safety heroes and raise awareness of their stories.
911der Women
911der Women is a nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen and support the Women of 911 and equip them with the tools to foster professional and personal growth. They provide mental health and wellness resources, training, career development, outreach and research to our 911 responders who are the public safety lifeline to those who call in need of help.
Each year, Concept Seating has been privileged to sponsor their annual fundraiser with a Concept Seating chair featuring the 911der Woman logo. The support that 911der Women is able to provide this community is invaluable. As they say, “not all heroes wear capes, some wear headsets.”
